Intro to Naturalization Records - 7/9/2012


The Friends of the National Archives-Southeast Region, Inc., are please to sponsor the presentation "I Swear Allegiance: Federal Naturalization Records, 1790-1950" with Linda Woodward Geiger, CG, CGL on July 9th, 2012.

Summary: Our county is truly a melting pot with many of our ancestors leaving their homelands for a variety of reasons. This presentation will focus on some of the records created by individuals who wanted to be a part of our great nation. Many sample documents will illustrate what the records may or may not tell us about our families.

The Presenter: Linda Woodward Geiger is a Certified Genealogist and a Certified Genealogical Lecturer. Her specialties include federal records (particularly those of the Southeast), Georgia research, and documenting Cherokee heritage. 

She is a national speaker, and serves on the boards of several societies including the Friends of the National Archives Southeast Region, the Georgia Genealogical Society,  and Georgia Chapter of the Trail of Tears Association.
