Low-Cost Ways to Preserve Family Archives

In celebration of Preservation Week we learn of this next webinar:

"Most of us are creators and collectors of something we value or enjoy, such as family papers, photographs, cookbooks or postcards. They are a big part of who we are and what we do. We think about passing these collections on to our families, even our communities. What can we do to protect our collectables from damage even if we don’t think we have a perfect place to keep them? Learn about possible risks from handling and the environment, and practical, inexpensive ideas to keep collections safe to help ensure what you have can be shared for many years to come."  Source: ALCTS Association of Library Collections and Technical Services, a Division of the American Library Association, http://www.ala.org/alcts/confevents/upcoming/webinar/042914, viewed 16 April 2014.

Register for Webinar Wednesday - Genealogy Evidence and Online Family Trees by Karen Clifford

A person's identity is established through evidence. Usually that evidence comes from multiple record groups which when studied together either forges stronger links between family members, or weakens links (and confusion reigns.) Sometimes there are records about the same person which disagree. In this webinar, presented by Karen Clifford, you will become familiar with available tools from online family trees that can help to logically build the evidence to strengthen a claim to a specific ancestor.
