DearREADERS,
Need a little help attaching online scanned images to an ancestor in your genealogy database? Russ
Worthington and DearMYRTLE share experiences attaching document images
to ancestors in the collaborative online environment of Ancestry.com.
Be sure to obtain a .PDF copy of the handouts for this class during the
presentation as there are comparisons of various desktop and handheld
software programs.
As
genealogy
websites increase in sophistication, it’s possible to link online
scanned images to ancestors in online trees, and collaborate by sharing
images
and other multi-media files with other diligent researchers. This will
be demonstrated using RootsMagic 5, and using Family Tree Maker 2012
(with Ancestry.com) during this webinar.
Merely using a home computer to compile
genealogy will soon be dwarfed by the increased use of laptops, library computers
and hand-helds such as tablets and smart phones. Ensuring that all locations of your genealogy database are accurately
updated is in its infancy.
